Anna was inducted by our Assistant Governor, Jerry Reilly (center). They are shown here with Anna's sponsor, Nick Constantino.

Welcome to Rotary Anna!

(Our apologies for the blurry picture, but in the other pictures, which were much clearer, Anna and/or Nick had very scared looks on their faces! Jerry's induction ceremony basically required Anna to surrender her first born to Rotary! smiley )

"The Rotary Club of Clarkstown Sunrise was chartered in May, 1991 as an alternative to Rockland County’s luncheon meetings.   Still the only breakfast club in the county, Clarkstown Sunrise meets every Tuesday at 7:30am at the City Line Family Restaurant, New City.
Our current President, Alexandra Duenas, who was also President for the 2012-13 Rotary year, is serving the first of her two-year commitment to recreate the club and, in doing so, has created a renewed energy and enthusiasm.   Our twelve members have committed to the growth of our club and the good that we do – not only locally, but internationally.
We have collected “Suits for Soldiers”, provided funding to Rockland County’s Meals on Wheels, contributed to the Rotary Foundation and supported the End Polio Now campaign.   We are also continuing our commitment of sending students to RYLA – Rotary Youth Leadership Awards – a program designed to ensure that high school sophomores, who demonstrate leadership potential, will receive the training to ensure that they become leaders.   We also started “Rockland Rotary Means Business”.
We are very proud that we have created a new “signature project” – our “Suits for Soldiers Comedy Show” – which will debut on May 4, 2018 at the American Legion, New City.   In addition to continuing collecting business attire for our returning veterans looking to re-enter the workplace, proceeds of the show will go towards our international project – providing services to terminally ill children in Colombia (a program equivalent to “Make a Wish”).   A mere $9500.00 will support this program for an entire year!   Other Rotary clubs, and Rotarians individually, have committed to this project!
One of our newest members, Major Terry Schaeffer (Salvation Army), has committed to – and has done an amazing job – securing wonderful speakers for us every week.
Guests are always welcome to join us and to learn more about what being a Rotarian is all about.   Please call Nick Constantino, a former District Governor of Rotary International, (845-294-0123) for additional information.   You can also visit our website ~ or our Facebook page ~"

One of the goals of our President, Alexandra, over the next two years is to secure a Peace Fellow applicant, preferably from within the Rockland law enforcement community.

As the proverbial first step, she invited her good friend and Rotarian Peace Scholar, Captain DF Pace of the Philadelphia Police Department to share his experiences with us this morning.

A Peace Scholar applicant can apply for a Masters Degree in Peace & Conflict resolution or a Certificate in same.  (Please ask us to explain.)

You can download a brochure from our website (download files section).   Once you review the brochure, please message us if you would like to know how you might become eligible for this amazing opportunity --- at no cost to you! Please include your phone number, as there is far too much information to relay via messaging.

We hope to hear from you!
